Subtitle Converter: SRT, VTT & ASS
Convert subtitle cue text and timestamps between SRT, WebVTT and ASS locally. Check timing syntax before downloading text.
How to use
Paste subtitle text and select both formats. SRT uses comma milliseconds; WebVTT uses dot milliseconds and a WEBVTT header. ASS uses centiseconds and an Events section whose Format line defines the dialogue fields.
For 00:00:01,000 → 00:00:03,500, VTT output is 00:00:01.000 → 00:00:03.500. ASS output rounds to 10 ms precision. Cue order, multiline text and overlaps are retained; non-positive cue duration is rejected.
Behavior and limits
Cross-format conversion is text-and-timing conversion, not a full styling translator. ASS positioning, drawings, fonts and override styles are discarded; VTT settings cannot be represented in SRT. Limit: 200,000 characters and 10,000 cues.
ASS export rejects literal braces and backslash-N/n/h sequences rather than silently changing their text; choose SRT or VTT when these must stay literal.
Questions & answers
Does it translate the subtitle language?
No. It changes file syntax and timing notation, not the spoken language or transcription.
Can I use this without uploading data?
