Choose characters or regional vocabulary
Select the source and target variants before converting. Taiwan with vocabulary uses regional word choices as well as Traditional character forms. Taiwan characters changes the character forms without the same vocabulary replacement.
OpenCC dictionaries handle phrases, rather than replacing each character independently. This helps disambiguate cases such as 发 in 头发 and 发展.
Review names and ambiguous phrases
Some Simplified characters merge several Traditional forms. A round trip cannot always reconstruct the original. Review personal names, brands, classical text and specialist terms before publishing.
The converter preserves line breaks and punctuation. It does not translate Chinese into English, sanitize HTML or infer your intended dialect. Text processing runs locally after the dictionary bundle loads.

Which mode should I choose for Taiwan readers?
Use Taiwan with vocabulary for regional word choices such as 软件 → 軟體. Use Taiwan characters when the original vocabulary should remain.
Can conversion always be reversed?
No. Character mergers and context-dependent mappings can lose information.
