Unicode Normalizer
Normalize Unicode text as NFC, NFD, NFKC or NFKD. Compare composed accents and compatibility characters locally.
How to use
NFC composes canonically equivalent sequences where possible: e followed by a combining acute accent becomes é. NFD decomposes é into its base letter and combining mark. These forms can help compare text from different keyboards or operating systems.
NFKC and NFKD also apply compatibility mappings. For example, ① and fullwidth A can become 1 and A. Those changes may remove typographic or semantic distinctions; use canonical forms when preserving such distinctions matters.
Behavior and limits
Normalization does not remove accents, convert letter case or transliterate Chinese. It follows the browser Unicode implementation. Text is limited to 200,000 UTF-16 code units and is processed locally.
Questions & answers
Does NFC make visually similar text identical?
No. Confusable letters from different scripts can still differ. Normalization is not a complete spoofing detector.
Can I use this without uploading data?
Processing runs on your device. Input is not sent to a conversion API. Keep the page open until the result is ready.
