Wi-Fi QR Code Generator
Create a Wi-Fi QR code from your network name and password. Supports WPA, WEP, open and hidden networks. Generate and download a PNG locally.
Encoded Wi-Fi settings
Share Wi-Fi without typing a password
Enter the exact network name and password, choose its security type and generate a code. Download the PNG and place it where trusted visitors can scan it with a compatible phone camera.
The code contains a Wi-Fi configuration string, not a link to a hosted service. It needs no subscription and has no expiry date. If you change the network name or password, generate a new code.
WPA, WEP and hidden networks
WPA is the usual choice for WPA/WPA2 personal networks. WPA3 scanning support varies by phone and network settings. WEP is provided for legacy compatibility; open networks omit a password. Enterprise Wi-Fi that needs a username or certificate is not supported.
The hidden-network option adds the hidden flag to the payload. Some scanners ignore it, so test the generated code on the devices your visitors use. Network names are case-sensitive and limited to 32 UTF-8 bytes.
Privacy and testing
Generation runs locally, but anyone who obtains the QR image can recover its password. Share a guest network rather than a private administrator network when appropriate.
Scan the exported image before printing. Keep the white border around the code, use a clear print and do not stretch it out of proportion. This tool does not connect your own device to the network.
Questions & answers
Does the QR code expire?
No. It continues to encode the same network settings. It stops being useful when those settings change.
Can I use semicolons or other special characters in my password?
Yes. The generator escapes characters that have a special meaning in the Wi-Fi payload, including semicolons and backslashes.
Is my password uploaded?
No. The QR image is generated on this device. The password is included in the exported code and can be decoded by its recipients.
