Barcode Generator

Generate Code 128, EAN-13 and UPC-A barcodes. Validate numeric check digits, preview and download SVG or high-resolution PNG without an account.

Choose the right barcode format

Code 128 encodes ASCII text and numbers and is useful for internal labels or inventory identifiers. EAN-13 and UPC-A are retail formats with fixed numeric lengths and a final check digit.

For EAN-13, enter 12 digits to calculate the check digit or 13 digits to validate an existing number. UPC-A accepts 11 digits to calculate its check digit or 12 to validate it. Values with leading zeros stay intact.

Create and print a barcode

Choose a format, enter its value and click Generate barcode. Try Example for a valid value in the selected format. Download SVG for scalable print artwork or PNG for document and image workflows.

Leave the white quiet zones intact on both sides. Use black bars on white, avoid stretching the image, and scan a printed sample with the actual scanner before printing a whole batch.

A barcode image does not register a product

This tool creates the visual representation of your supplied identifier. It does not assign a GS1 company prefix, register a product or guarantee acceptance by a retailer. Use an identifier issued for your actual product when working with retail systems.

A one-dimensional barcode is different from a QR code. Use the QR generator for links and Wi-Fi settings. This generator accepts at most 80 characters; fixed-length formats have their own stricter rules.

Questions & answers

Why is my barcode number rejected?

EAN-13 and UPC-A require digits only, the expected length and a valid check digit when supplied. Code 128 accepts ASCII text; unsupported characters and empty values are rejected.

Can I generate barcodes for free?

Yes. You can create and download barcode images without an account. Product numbering or registration is separate from image generation.

SVG or PNG: which should I use?

SVG keeps bars sharp when scaled and is suitable for print layouts. PNG is convenient for applications that only accept bitmap images. Always preserve the quiet zones.
