Inspect and edit document information

Choosing a PDF loads its current fields. Inspect shows document Info fields, creation/modification dates, language and an XMP preview when readable. Switch to Edit, change the fields you want and run to create a new file. Blank fields in Edit are deliberately saved as blank.

Keywords use comma-separated input. Language is a BCP 47 tag such as en, zh-Hans or zh-Hant. Each editable value is limited to 5,000 characters. Existing XMP is removed during editing so it cannot contradict the new Info values; XMP previews are bounded to 100,000 decoded bytes.

Removing metadata has a defined scope

Remove Info + XMP removes the document-level information dictionary and XMP stream. This does not promise to erase all private information: page text, annotations, attachments, form values, embedded objects and other custom structures may still contain it. Compressed XMP previews with very large stored streams may be omitted.

Local processing and file limits

Files are processed in your browser; the PDF is not uploaded. The general limit is 100 MiB and 2,000 source pages, with the lower organizer/render/extraction limits described above. Encrypted or damaged files are rejected. Cancel, clear and input changes invalidate old results.

Questions & answers

Does Inspect create a download?

No. It only reports what was read. Edit or Remove Info + XMP creates a separate PDF that can be downloaded.

Are files uploaded to a server?

No. Files, input text and results stay in your browser. Required engines, fonts and support files load from this site.
