CSV / TSV Transpose

Swap CSV rows and columns locally. Handle quoted delimiters, embedded line breaks, UTF-8 BOM and uneven rows.

How to use

Transposition turns each source column into a result row. Headers are treated as ordinary cells, so the operation can rotate a small report or reorganize spreadsheet exports without inventing a schema.

The parser accepts doubled quotes and embedded newlines inside quoted cells. It keeps leading zeroes and formula-like text unchanged. Short rows are padded with empty cells. Output uses CRLF line endings and quotes only when required.

Behavior and limits

Inputs are limited to 200,000 characters, 10,000 rows and 1,000 columns; the transposed grid may contain at most 100,000 cells. Spreadsheet apps may execute formula-like cells when you paste results; inspect untrusted data first.

Questions & answers

Does transposing twice restore the original?

Cell values in a rectangular grid are restored. Original quote style and line endings are normalized, and uneven rows gain empty padding cells.

Is my input uploaded?

No. Processing runs in your browser. This tool does not send your input to an API or save it in local storage. Text tools accept up to 200,000 characters.
