UUID Decoder & Timestamp Inspector
Inspect UUID versions and RFC variants. Extract timestamps from UUID v1, v6 and v7; recognize Nil and Max identifiers.
How to use
Paste a standard hyphenated UUID, optionally wrapped in braces or prefixed with urn:uuid:. The result shows canonical lowercase spelling, version, RFC variant and the 16 underlying bytes.
Versions 1 and 6 carry a Gregorian-epoch timestamp; version 7 carries Unix milliseconds. The timestamp is shown in UTC. For v1/v6, node is a stored 48-bit field and does not necessarily identify a physical network card.
Behavior and limits
Versions 3, 4, 5 and 8 do not expose a standardized creation time. Parsing a timestamp does not prove when an identifier was actually issued. Nil and Max are recognized separately from ordinary RFC UUIDs.

Questions & answers
Can I find the owner from a UUID?
No. A UUID is an identifier, not a public account directory. This tool only examines its encoded structure.
Is my input uploaded?
No. Processing runs in your browser. This tool does not send your input to an API or save it in local storage. Text tools accept up to 200,000 characters.
