International Phone Number Parser

Parse and format phone numbers as E.164, national or international text. Check possible and valid number patterns with offline country metadata.

Choose a default country for local numbers

Enter one number per line, using + for international numbers. A local number such as (213) 373-4253 needs a default region like US; +86 or +886 numbers already carry a calling code. The country field accepts the library’s ISO-style two-letter region codes and can be left empty for international input.

The report includes E.164, international and national formatting, tel URI, extension, country calling code and number type when known. A calling code can be shared by several regions; country may be null until there is enough evidence. Non-geographic numbers are identified separately.

Possible, valid and reachable are different

Possible checks number length; valid also checks the digits against the bundled numbering-plan patterns. Neither confirms assignment, ownership, current service or whether a call will connect. The tool sends no SMS, makes no calls and performs no carrier lookup.

The offline dataset is libphonenumber-js 1.13.15 with max metadata, including detailed validation and type rules. Numbering plans change, so newly allocated ranges may not be recognized until a dependency update. Text search returns valid-pattern matches and UTF-16 character offsets; parse mode preserves per-line failures. Limits are 100,000 characters, 1,000 numbers and 250 characters for each number in parse mode.

Questions & answers

Why can a possible number still be invalid?

Its length may fit the country plan while its prefix or digit pattern does not. These are separate metadata checks.

Can this identify a person or current carrier?

No. Formatting and numbering-plan metadata do not provide personal identity or live portability and carrier information.

Is my input uploaded?

No. Parsing and generation run in your browser. Engines and datasets load from this site; the tool does not store input or send it to a processing API.
