Data URI Parser
Inspect a data URL without opening it. Read MIME metadata, decode Base64 or percent-encoded bytes and inspect UTF-8 text.
How to use
A data URL has the form data:[media-type][;base64],payload. The result separates the media type, parameters, byte length, Base64 and UTF-8 interpretation. An omitted media type defaults to text/plain.
Percent encoding is decoded as bytes, so %FF remains byte 255 rather than failing a text-only decoder. utf8 is null for invalid UTF-8. A declared non-UTF-8 charset is reported but is not transcoded.
Behavior and limits
HTML, SVG and JavaScript payloads are displayed only as text. This inspector does not render or execute them. Use image or PDF tools separately when you intentionally want a preview.

Questions & answers
Is a plus sign treated as a space?
No. Data URI percent decoding preserves a literal +. It does not use form query-string decoding.
Is my input uploaded?
No. Processing runs in your browser. This tool does not send your input to an API or save it in local storage. Text tools accept up to 200,000 characters.
